Chinchilla As Pet
If you choose a chinchilla as pet, acquire babies from responsible breeders.
The animals cannot regulate their body temperature and may die from being too hot. Ideal temperatures are between 45º and 70º F with low humidity. The cage should be kept out of direct sunlight as well as direct draft; it is good to keep the animal cool is to freeze rocks and place them in the cage.

Chinchilla As Pet -
babies, breeders
These animals are very active and agile and they require lots of exercise. They should be kept in a large cage and have play time in the room. Chins are chewers and may spoil furniture or electric wires, so it's better to allow them an hour or two to run around the bathroom every day.
