An average weight of these animals is from 18 to 35 ounces; length of the body is 8-15 inches, and their tail is 3-6 inches long. An average live span is 8-10 years in the wild, but in captivity they can live for 20 years. Chinchillas come in the following colors: blue-grey, white, beige, violet, and mosaic.
